It is the shrinking of the Palmar Aponeurosis under the skin of the Palm with the effect of the creation of tough strings, lumps or dimples, usually pointing to the fingers. Over the time, the strings grow and draw the fingers down into a bent position and destroy the joints. It is of unknown etiology. The condition is serious because it may cause severe damage to the hand. Often, it is combined with diseases of the median nerve of the wrist.
